AIBN researchers secure nearly $5 million in ARC Fellowship funding
AIBN researchers secured close to $5 million in Australian Research Council Fellowship funding, including a $1.13 million ARC Future Fellowship to Associate Professor Seth Cheetham.
The fellowship supports work on ultra-stable cloaked mRNAs. Instability is one of the practical limits on mRNA medicines, driving cold chain requirements, shortening shelf life and adding cost at every step of manufacture.
An mRNA that holds together better is cheaper to make, easier to distribute and more realistic to deploy outside well resourced hospitals, which matters for cancer vaccines that must be made quickly for one patient at a time.
